Welcome to Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve, where you and your family can go on a game drive, watch predators feed, explore a cave, have a braai, speed around a bike track, climb a jungle gym, go for a swim, share a pizza, enjoy sundowners, stay the night and so much more.
Game Drives are provided for in our open Game Drive vehicles which can take 10 or 20 people, depending on the group size. Game drives depart at 09h00, 12h00 and 15h00 with an occasional 17h00 drive.The game drive take between 1.5 and 2 hours long – at a maximum. Payment for a minimum of 2 people are required to commence with a game drive. Terms & Conditions Apply.
We have a wide variety of animals in our Wildlife Centre who are ambassadors of their species to the public, many of which either were rescued, rejected, hand-reared and/or are being rehabilitated.
The Reserve boasts a number of restaurants, each offering a different experience. The Boma Restaurant is situated at the Day Visitors area and offers an a-la-carte me. The Thatch Café offers a range of family-friendly meals for diners on the deck overlooking the Cradle Bike Park. The Neck & Deck has an extensive menu including breakfast, light meals, mains and sundowners and features a cellar stocked with fine wines and champagnes.
The Boma Restaurant, Thatch Café and Neck & Deck Restaurant are fully licenced.
The WonderCave is a pristine World Heritage Site located in the Cradle of Humankind, showcasing breathtaking formations. Visitors can enjoy refreshments at the kiosk with stunning views of the Cradle. The WonderCave operates from 09h00 to 16h00, with tours starting every hour on the hour. Bookings are recommended, and guests are requested to arrive at the cave at least 15 minutes before the tour time.
