EduRide, Equitherapy and Horse Riding Lessons with a Difference
EduRide offers equitherapy sessions, an enjoyable form of outdoor therapy which involves doing activities whilst on horseback. These activities stimulate the brain as well as the body. The child is engaged in an environment which provides enjoyment and freedom of expression.
Equitherapy assists in addressing a variety of learning difficulties, including emotional and behavioural aspects.
Muscle Tone
Balance & Posture
Range of Movement
Spatial Perception & Body Awareness
Attention Span & Concentration
Motivation & Self-confidence
Mood
The founder of EduRide, Margreet Ludewig has trained and handed over the Equitherapy sessions to Wihan Ras, a SA Riding for the Disabled (SARDA) qualified instructor. SARDA Gauteng is a Non-Profit Organisation (No: 002-825) run from the EARTH Centre (NPC No: 2013/212606/08).
EduRide offers a six month curriculum within which the childs individual skills are addressed. A noticeable difference can be seen after 12 weeks (one session per week).
EduRide also offers horse riding lessons for both children and adults. Lessons are offered Mondays to Saturdays, individually or in groups both in the morning and afternoon.
Once again emphasis is placed on working holistically with each individual to achieve balance, physically, emotionally and behaviourally.
We believe that the horse in itself serves as a natural educational medium to help children achieve their potential in areas such as self-esteem, leadership and responsibility whilst they have fun outdoors.
