Welfare for abused, abandoned and neglected orphaned babies and children


Jo’burg Child Welfare (NPO # 000-566) provides care services, adoption and fostering, abuse treatment and prevention, rights advocacy and learning to children and their families across Johannesburg.

The JCW centres are:
• Princess Alice Adoption Home (round the clock care for abandoned babies)
• Othandweni Family Care Centre (full time residential care for children aged 0-18)
• Thembalethu (life skills and training for young people and A Chance to Play in the inner city)
• Elton John Masibambisane Centre (for orphaned and vulnerable children and their families)

Jo’burg Child Welfare directly and indirectly reaches, some 45 000 orphaned, vulnerable and abused children, annually. It works closely and beneficially with some 68 Gauteng community-based organisations and is steadfast in its record of good governance over its 105-year existence.
