⏰ Times:

We are open from 6am-6pm. There is no extra charge for holidays, basic extra murals, security, early bird care and aftercare. Fully inclusive. My aim as an educator is of course to give your little one the best foundation…However, it is also to support the family infrastructure and to make the experience an add value for all.

🏝 Holidays:

We are open during the holidays and only close for public holidays and one religious holiday. (Yom Kippur)

I have a unique fee structure that I’ve been using since the inception of Kimmi’s - It’s based on individual family needs, affordability and honesty. I always say that at the heart of the school is a triangle. We work together as a team with your little ones best interests at heart

👫 The Daily Schedule:

This is very detailed and differs from age group to age group. It is a child led philosophy facilitated by the educator. We have a truly South African environment as well as a Judaic and Secular Curriculum. Our facilities allow for indoor/outdoor education with the focus on play as a means to an end. We are situated in the heart of Norwood and are Blessed to be nestled in a wonderful tree-lined suburb with a forest feel. Truly under African Skies 🙏🏻

✅ Milestone Checklists:

At Kimmi’s I follow a continuous observation form of evaluating as a tool to gather and provide guidelines. Observing and documenting a child’s play and performance over the course of a year allows me to accumulate a mental note of the child’s development.

👀 Observations are made with minimal or no intrusion into children’s activities. We can observe all facets of development, including intellectual, linguistic, social-emotional, and physical development, on a regular basis without disrupting the organic flow of play and learning. This is a given irrespective and is monitored to ensure that the activities provided reinforce what they have already achieved, but also challenge them to explore other possibilities.

🏆 I use a combination of 3 syllabi that underly the holistic education at Kimmi’s. The preferred month for DC’s (Developmental Checklists) is March and September (last quarter of the year) as well as the final Summary and Observation Report at the end of the year.

🖼 We are not living in conventional times and many conventional approaches no longer apply. While the foundation to learning is the same, the spontaneous play (ie learning) was lost during the isolation of Covid19 lockdown and subsequent lifestyle changes in general. We have created an environment that counters this and allows for development to occur organically.

♥️ We believe in people. In Families. In connection and in Staff. The pupil-adult ratio is less than 4:1 and we are able to guide, nurture and nudge the play-based exploration, thus building the body of experiential knowledge. (ie Expanding their experiences). The first 1000 days are the most crucial days of a child’s development and we are there every step of the way. We have all the ingredients and expertise necessary to cease every window of opportunity. I’ve no doubt we will tick all your boxes.

My kids love going to school. Kimmi's is their happy place and is a loving, nurturing, stimulating environment! One of the best and easiest decisions I've ever made was to send both my kids there. My little boy LOVES it at Kimmis!
He started when he was 1.
Every morning he waits by the door for us to hurry up and take him to play school.
All the staff at Kimmis are so loving and caring.
I highly recommend this school for babies and toddlers ♡☆♡

Wow, Kimmi's playschool is a loving, caring space. He never wants to go home at the end of the day! The development of his little brain is evident that he is being taught and shown interesting things. Other kids his age, not at Kimmi's, are definitely not as far advanced and exposed as my little one. Thank you Kimmi and team

My 2yr old boys started at Kimmi’s earlier this year and they absolutely love it there. I often don’t even get a goodbye when I drop them off and if they could stay there for the weekend they would! As a single mom I honestly don’t know what I’d do without Kim and her amazing team. It’s my boys home away from home.

My twin boys joined Kimmi’s earlier this year and are thriving. Most mornings I don’t even get a goodbye when I drop them off. I’m sure if they could, they’d stay for the weekend too! My little boy LOVES Kimmis! He runs inside in the morning full of smiles and is still smiling when I come fetch him much later. Kimmi and her team are warm, loving and nurturing. The environment is peaceful and content. The children learn through play and develop beautifully in doing so. I would definitely recommend Kimmis!

My son goes to Kimmis and he absolutely loves it. It has the best environment for him to grow and play with such amazing and nurturing people to take care of him. He has learnt a lot and has a lot of fun. He can't wait to go to school each day. Kimmis is the best playschool around.

Kimmis literally feels like you are leaving you little one at their grandparents. I am grateful for how they effortlessly nurture my little one not only intellectually but emotionally as well.

Kimmis is a loving, nurturing, warm and stimulating environment for your little ones. The staff go above and beyond and are truly incredible. Our little guy is happy and thriving and flies out of our arms in the morning when we arrive at school. As parents, we couldn't ask for more! We are so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful school!

My son started at Kimmies at four months and thrived there. Kim and her team are exceptional. It is a warm and caring environment. They go out there way to help parents in anyway they can, even during tough times. It truly is a one of a kind school. I highly recommend this school for babies and toddlers.

Kimmis Playschool is amazing for peace of mind that their loved ones are cared for. Kimmi is wonderful and her staff are excellent. My nieces have done so well after a traumatic start in life as Kimmi provided consistency and continuity of care. I highly recommend the school for babies and toddlers. The school is open all day which is so helpful.

This is the second year I enrolled my son at Kimmi's. Her passion and empathy for children is incredible. Within a short time my son was settled into his new environment and whenever he came home and I asked him how was school he replied with excitement that "It was fun" which frankly is all a parent ever wants to hear. My daughter has been at Kimmi’s for a year now and she is thriving there. She loves going to school and I love knowing she is being cared for and appropriately educated according to her age. I looked at other schools but chose Kimmi’s because it was highly recommended and when I visited I could feel the care that is shown to each child by the amazing team.

Both of my boys started at Kimmi as babies and I always felt confident that they were safe, nurtured and loved by the team there. The hours are realistic for working parents, the fees are very reasonable and the facilities are great. It’s an amazing place!
